Castro podcast app launches on iPad for the first time

3 hours ago 1

Castro, the inbox and queue-based podcast app for iPhone, has just launched its first ever iPad app. Here are the details.

Castro for iPad available now on the App Store

If you’re looking for a third-party podcast app for iPhone, Castro has long been one of the best options.

The app originally won me over with its drag and drop-based queueing system that lets you triage new podcasts easily.

Castro has always been iPhone-only, but now an iPad app has officially launched.

Available on the App Store, Castro for iPad comes with all the same basic functionality found in the iPhone version.

And your podcast data, of course, will sync between devices.

From Castro’s blog post announcement:

It’s the full-featured iPad app you’d expect. We spent a lot of time optimizing Explore and various grid surfaces to make use of the additional screen space. I knew supporting iPad was a big deal, but I was surprised at how much better the app felt on a larger screen once I started using it regularly. So I’m very excited to get this out to everyone, and we’ll continue to enhance the iPad app as we update older parts of the app.

Are you a Castro user, and if so, are you excited for the new iPad app? Let us know in the comments.
