Running a marathon is a big deal, especially when it’s a huge event like the New York City Marathon, which you might only get one chance to do in your life.

Naturally, that means you should train well and do everything you can to make sure the run itself is as enjoyable as possible.

Equally importantly, you should 100% get yourself some souvenirs from the race, and what better souvenir than some commemorative kit?

New Balance’s 2025 NYC Marathon collection has just been revealed, featuring a range of special-edition running shoes and apparel that celebrate the race.

The range includes some of the best running shoes I’ve tested this year, like the New Balance Rebel v5, along with the brand’s flagship racing shoe, the New Balance SC Elite v5.

You can purchase most of the kit right now, but some items will only be available closer to race day, including the SC Elite v5 and these excellent NYC Borough gloves.

Here are three items from the range I’d be snapping up if I were lucky enough to be running NYC this year.

Running souvenirs don’t get much better than a great running shoe, and that’s exactly what the Rebel v5 is.

I loved testing it, and it’s a great option for both marathon training and the race itself, if you don’t intend on using one of the best carbon plate running shoes on the day.

It has a comfortable and stable design with lots of cushioning underfoot for long runs, but is still very light and fast enough for workouts and racing.

The 2025 NYC Marathon version of the Rebel will set you back a little more than the standard version of the shoe — those NYC logos don’t come for free, unfortunately.

New Balance NYC Marathon 2025 Jacket

I have a version of this jacket as a souvenir of the London Marathon, which New Balance also sponsors, and while it’s a little thick and hot on the run, it’s great for wearing during the warm-up of group runs to let everyone know you’ve run a marathon.

Even if you don’t plan on doing that, the marathon jacket is the quintessential race souvenir, and you’ll see a lot of runners in it before and after the race in November.

There is a range of kit available with this colorful graphic celebrating the race, including t-shirts, socks, singlets, and lightweight jackets.

Any of it will make a good souvenir for runners, and if you don’t have a running club or charity top you plan to wear for the marathon, the singlets or t-shirts are a good choice for race day — I’ve worn New Balance’s tops for many long runs and they are comfortable and don’t chafe.
