The S&P 500 (SP500) has historically struggled when economic growth is weak, even if growth is not negative, and has been susceptible to meaningful drawdowns, according to Eric Johnston, senior managing director at Cantor Fitzgerald’s Equity Derivatives and Cross Asset desk.
